At anvil we pride ourselves in being able to produce items that very few other companies can. One of our most unique set of items is our Medieval Torture and Restraining equipment. We researched deeply into the methods of torture used in this time period and then set out to replicate their designs.

Our range of items was created using the traditional techniques, in the same way a medieval blacksmith would have. All of our replica Medieval Torture and restraining equipment are built in the same designs as original medieval torture equipment and are for that matter historically correct and fully functional. Our products are finished with a "used" look; this has been achieved by roughing up with abrasive paper and adding slight dents to the steel itself. The finished product is then left to rust very slightly to give it an appearance of age.
Our first finished range of these items was donated to the Castle Museum Norwich, where it is now being used to demonstrate to children some of the methods used for restraint in the medieval period. We are proud to have been able to produce products to
educate new generations of our local community, and visitors, in
this way.
